Japanese Rice Seasoning-Furikake


"Furikake  pronounced Foo-ree-kah-kay is a Japanese condiment   typically sprinkled over or mixed into rice. There are dozens of   varieties, most contain seaweed, sesame seeds, I like  to use it to replace salt in salads and other recipes"

  7    sheets  nori
  1/2  cup  sesame seeds (brown -- white, or mix)
  1/2  teaspoon  garlic powder

Toast nori by holding each sheet with tongs and swiping across hot element or gas flame

Toast sesame seeds in a dry skillet until golden.

Tear the nori sheets into very small pieces. Add nori to food processor. Process until nori is in fine pieces.

In a bowl add sesame seeds, garlic powder and nori mix together and store in a sealed container in a dark place.
