Basic Medium Gluten Free White Sauce (medium GF Béchamel Sauce)

Basic Medium Gluten Free White Sauce (medium GF Béchamel Sauce)
"This recipe make 4 cups medium thick sauce good for casseroles and sauces"

Serving Size  : 16   Yields: 4 cups

  4       Cups  Milk -- (or cream)
  8       Tablespoons  Rice Flour -- (or cornstarch)
  8      
Tablespoons  Butter -- (or olive oil)
          Salt and Pepper to taste

In a saucepan, scald milk over low heat (heat until small bubbles start to form around the edges of the pot. Set milk aside until needed.

Over medium low heat melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the flour
continue to stir until fat is absorbed into flour. Gradually stir in warm milk, a little at a time, and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Add season to taste and simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 8-10 minutes.

NOTES : Please note that the sauce will get thicker when it cools
so take it off the heat just a little before the thickness you desire

NOTES :Please note that the sauce will get thicker when it cools
so take it off the heat just a little before the thickness you desire If a thinner sauce is required, add more milk.If the Béchamel needs to be thicker, simmer the sauce longer.

Chocolate Chickpea Spread
1 15-Ounce Can Chickpeas
1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter
3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1/2 Cup Dutch-Processed Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Teaspoon Instant Coffee Powder
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 – 4 Tablespoons Water
As with all hummus, this spread couldn’t be easier; Just throw everything but the water into your food processor or blender, and thoroughly puree, scraping down the sides of the bowl to get everything incorporated as needed. With the motor running, slowly drizzle in the water, until you reach your desired consistency. Spread at will!
Makes about 2 Cups
